Any plans to fix OpenPHT compatibility with the Plex ios app?

$

This relates to the IOS remote no longer working properly with PHT & OpenPHT. See details in these threads:

https://forums.plex.tv/discussion/243726/plex-app-4-4-1-does-not-work-as-remote-any-more#latest

https://forums.plex.tv/discussion/244018/using-plex-ios-as-remote-for-pht#latest

An IOS developer is pointing to PHT as the problem, not the ios app, though downgrading to IOS app 4.4 fixed the issue for me.

Are there any plans to incorporate this fix into OpenPHT?

Hi is there any support for the new MacOS "picture in picture" planned?

Besides that, is there a hotkey to switch OpenPHT from fullscreen into windowed mode?

Thanks in advance

A little help needed with Odroid C2

I've been running Rasplex on several Raspberry Pi's in my house for years and decided to give the Odroid C2 a go.

Installed and running fine, but have two issues that i'm struggling to resolve:

1) The Odroid turns off via the onboard IR receiver whenever I turn off the TV. As i'm using CEC, i just need to disable IR on the Odroid.
Spent some time searching the forums and looks like this can be done by copying the lircd.conf file and commenting out the IR KEY_POWER commands. Can any one tell me how I can access the file? Via SSH?

Info: https://forums.plex.tv/discussion/224990/resolved-openpht-1-6-2-123-on-odroid-c2-unable-to-disable-cec-control

2) When navigating menus in OpenPHT, the Odroid seems to jump as if it was receiving two button presses. Again, had a search and it looks like this is because of the default button press time out being too short. Any idea how this can be amended in OpenPHT?

Info: http://forum.odroid.com/viewtopic.php?f=144&t=24443

OpenPHT can't play my TV tuner Channel plugin but Plex Web, Plex Windows app and Plex iOS app can?

Duplicate Servers

Hi I am new to OpenPHT.

I have plex server installed on a Windows PC and that is fine. I originally had it installed on my NAS but removed as was not powerful enough and removed the device from the plex device list and on the plex server software it only shows the one server.

I have 2 folders for Movies and TV shows.

The issue is the OpenPHT the menu shows 4 folders Movies and TV Shows twice once for the PC Plex server and one pointed at my NAS which no longer has plex installed and shows no items.

Anyone any idea why this is happening and how to remove?

Thanks

OpenPHT with Just Enough Operating System?

Hi,

I'm currently running OpenPHT on Windows 10 and I've really had enough of dealing with Windows.

I'd really like to just run OpenPHT with just enough OS to run it and nothing else.

Presumably going the linux route would be best, but would one of the embedded options work at all on x86 hardware?

I'm running a HP Microserver n54L with an AMD Radeon HD 6450 Silent graphics card. It may not be the latest and greatest but it's done me well for a few years and I see no reason to change it.

It doesn't -have- to be a cut down OS, I just want it to basically act like an appliance - switch on load into OpenPHT.

Any suggestions?

Cheers,
Kudos

Keyboard Shortcut

F6 keyboard shortcut stopped working. Usually brings up media item title, poster, and description. Now just the progress bar appears. Have mapped to my Harmony remote, have reapplied, still doesn't work. Not sure if this is a opht thing or skin thing. Not the end of the world, appreciate any response nonetheless. Cheers.

Closing, Exiting, Sleep or Shutdown from OpenPHT will hang Windows 10 OS.

Hi all,

Whenever I Close, Exit, Sleep or Shutdown OpenPHT 1.6.X from the menu, my entire Windows 10 system will hang. Sometimes I can Ctrl+Alt+Del to get the taskmanager to open and close OpenPHT but most of the time it's a hard shutdown/startup from the power sw. that is required to get it back. Happens EVERY time but did not when running straight Plex (Not Open PHT) Home Theater.

Anyone else with same issue or fix?

No disk in drive error

Hello, I just installed open PHT and whenever I launch the program I get an error saying that there is no disk in the drive. If I continue, retry or ignore it comes back two or three times until it launches and works perfectly fine. Any ideas, I'm on an Intel NUC running windows 8. TIA

Plex app on iOS (latest version) no longer functions as a remote control for OpenPHT. Anyone else?

Everything has been working swimmingly but the latest Plex app (ver 4.5) available at the iOS store has bricked the ability to be used as a remote control. I'm quite sure it's the app itself given that I've reverted the Plex Media server version back to a previously 'good' working server and it still doesnt work. Has anyone else experienced this? please tell me im not the only one.

Enable DVD Playback?

I've seen mention before of DVD support in OpenPHT, but I'm not able to find much information on how to enable it - is it actually available? If so, should I be seeing the DVD in OpenPHT? (I don't).

My wife occasionally gets DVD's from a friend and she wants to watch when I'm not around, but doesn't like having to use the player in Ubuntu.

during video playback, you can jump forward/backward with the right/left arrow keys.
for music playback, this will take you to the next/prev track.
is there a way to jump forward/back, in, say, 30 sec intervals?

OpenPHT on WeTek Hub - Information and Tips

$

[ FIRST IMPRESSIONS ]
Solid little device with a smaller form factor than the Odroid C2, but with the same Amlogic 905-H chipset. It has a good weight to the case and feels like a quality device, unlike my Odroid C2, whose case is light and cheap.

It has builtin WiFi/Bluetooth and comes with it's own IR remote. An 8GB eMMC chip is sealed inside the case with a preinstalled Android Lollipop Version 5.1.1. The SD card slot is available from the outside. The design encourages running other OSes (like OpenPHT) from the SD slot alone.

The WeTek Hub has a more consumer experience to it, while the Odroid C2 feels more like a development device.

You can find someone else's tear down of the hardware here.

[ SPECS ] - http://wetek.com/product/wetek-hub

Processor (CPU): Quad Core (AMLogic S905-H)
GPU: Penta Core Mali MP-450
RAM Memory: 1 GB DDR III
Flash memory: 8 GB eMMC
Wireless LAN: 802.11 B/G/N/AC
Supported Wi-Fi: 2.4/5 Ghz
Ethernet: 1000 Mbit/s
Bluetooth: 4.0
HDMI: 1x
MicroSD: 1x
USB 2.0: 1x
Serial Debug: Yes, external
IR Extender: Yes
Power socket: DC In

[ AUDIO SUPPORT ]
Technically supports all the same passthru formats as Odroid C2

Passthrough of AC3/E-AC3/DD/DTS 5.1
Passthrough of Dolby True HD 5.1 and 7.1 / ATMOS
Passthrough of DTS-HD MA/HRA 5.1 and 7.1
Passthrough of DTS 96/24
HDMI PCM 5.1/7.1 audio output is currently supported in OpenPHT 1.7.0 and above.
8 Channel DTS-HD audio decoding to PCM

[ VIDEO SUPPORT ]
Supports all the same formats as Odroid C2 so I've copied @NedtheNerd's info

8/10-bit 720p/1080p/2160p HEVC all playback perfectly.
Refresh rate switches correctly with smooth video playback in 720p/1080p/2160p display modes.

Direct Plays virtually everything you throw at it apart from those codecs listed below:
Maybe inaccurate, I'm still testing
- Interlaced Bluray Rips containing VC-1 content have stuttering playback. Normal VC-1 Movie Rips fine.
- No VP9 decoding, will be transcoded by PMS. This is a hardware limitation shared by Odroid C2.

[ SSH ]

UN: root
PW: openpht

[ WIFI STREAM EXPERIENCE ]
2.4ghz speeds were disappointing. However, this maybe because I wasn't using AC on my WiFi access point. I had good throughput over my 5ghz with 20Mbs+ streams, but I had to specify a 5ghz network name. On a WLAN with a single name for both 2.4 & 5Ghz antennas, defaulted to the 2.4ghz, even though I use WiFi Band Steering.

[ MY FAVORITE FEATURE ]
The included Android version has Uboot compiled into it. This let's you dual boot OSes right out the box without any special compiling of your own! Finally, I can boot to Android if I want to watch Netflix, Hulu, etc, then boot to OpenPHT for the best Plex client experience. You'll want to upgrade Android via their updater first to make sure this works properly.

To change between boot devices, simply hold the included IR remotes power button during boot up.

[ BUILT-IN ANDROID ]
Compared to the Odroid C2 Hardkernel supplied version, it's more full featured. They have obtained the proper licenses, so you can download apps from the Google Play Store including the Android version of Plex PMP if you like. They have Google Widevine and Microsoft Playready so DRM content is available. Android interactions do feel a little slow though. Especially at first.

Updates to come as they are available.

OpenPHT: will it support mixed libraries?

Blurry edged on 3D

so, i just got to try 3D on my projector for the first time since i bought it.
im using a benq w1400 projector and watching movies with openPHT

the movies are in half-sbs.

for some reason the edges of the screen are blurry when im watching.
dont know how to describe it. but it feels like one of the images has the black bars on the sides, and the other image doesnt, so it becomes blurry.. sort of.

ive tried three different movies, all with the same result.

anyone know why this is happening? and what i can do to fix it? if there is anything to fix? :)

[Feature Request] Dolby Atmos / DTS:X flags possible?

Since lots of movies are starting to come out with Atmos / DTS:X support, is there a way to get the flag into OpenPHT so we can identify which do/don't within Plex?

Cheers, OpenPHT Team!

I will try to act as a first interface on specific NAS users forum to "orient" only here question regarding OpenPHT ... and keep questions regarding the platform or the packaging.
BUT please be patient ... if some questions are not correctly redirected or are write here directly ...

Philippe.
